How Can You Help?

Pray...

We are in a battle for the lives and future of these children. The battle is spiritual, but the signs are physically evident in the faces of these children who need to know they are loved by God and by us, His children.

- Look at our "Programs" page and find the schedule for each program. During each acitivity, faithfully pray for the staff and children that God would have His way and be evident and real to these children. Pray for the staff that they would be effective, patient, and dilligent as they minster.

- Pray for MAYPS, that God will keep the staff humble, God-seeking, and faithful.

- Pray that God will work mightily in Memphis area and that we will see more stability, more intact families, and a revival of the the Church in this area.

Donate Your Time...

We need volunteer staff that can help in any number of ways. Maybe you can help serve some meals. Are you a retired teacher? Come help us tutor in the afternoons. Do you know someone who is powerful speaker that might want to donate their time for an assembly. There are lots of needs. We can assure you that if you make yourself available, we will find somewhere you can help minister.

Donate Resources & Financially...

This is a ministry that exists because of gifts from individuals and organizations. There are endless needs but limited resources. We try VERY hard to stretch every dollar to meet the needs where they are most acute. Our financial needs vary, but our focus is on these main areas -

- Funds for each of the programs.

- Equipment such as computers, recreation equipment, non-perishable food items, etc.

- Funds for a new building. MAYPS has located a building one block east of the Academy. This building is a two-story facility with approximately 6000 sq/ft. The building will operate as a community safe-haven with computer lab and training, tutoring, test preparation materials (e.g. ACT, SAT, TCAP), relaxation room, games, ping-pong tables, pool tables, arcade games, and food café. The building will also be utilized as the administrative lifeline to the overall consistency and efficiency of the organization's ability to address the needs of tje youth we serve. Data tracking, bookkeeping, and disseminating information from this central location will enhance and solidify the existing MAYPS programs (1st Place Tutoring, Club NON, and Family X'treme). Located in the center of the city, MAYPS believes this site will ultimately impact the entire Memphis City School system and the greater Memphis area. Board and community meetings will also be held at this location.
